The Fee Only Approach

Since many financial advisors depend on commission income, there are inherent conflicts of interest. These conflicts can cost you both in out-of-pocket expenses and in the quality of advice you receive. When Treger & Associates was established in 1999, we made a deliberate decision to establish our business as a fee only firm so that we can provide you with objective advice that meets your specific needs.

Because we do not receive referral fees from accountants, attorneys or insurance professionals, or commissions of any kind, we do not have a financial incentive to recommend a product or service unless it best meets your needs. Simply put, a fee only firm such as ours eliminates any inherent conflicts of interest in our relationships with clients.

By working on a fee only basis, we can customize an investment portfolio that is designed to help you realize your financial objectives and provide you with professional advice, timely information on your accounts and updates on the world’s financial markets. A fee only approach also enhances performance reporting, making it easier for you to monitor your holdings with greater transparency. It enables us to manage your portfolio and make investment changes as your objectives or the economic climate changes without commissions. It also enables us to focus on minimizing your tax cost in implementing your plan and making changes to it.
